Pastor, Anthony Smith Sr., the oldest of three siblings, was born and
raised in Houston, TX, to the parents of Judith Ann Smith and James Battle, Jr. As
a child, he was baptized at St. Mark Baptist Church in Memphis, TN. While growing up in Houston, TX he attended Greater
Mt. Zion where the late Rev. G.E. Gibbs was the Pastor. He also attended Holy Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, Pastor
Richard Rose.
Pastor Anthony received his High School diploma from James Madison in 1988. In 1994, he earned a Bachelor
of Science degree in Biology from Texas Tech University
in Lubbock, TX. He
was commisioned to the United States Navy. Years later after being stationed in Norfolk Virginia and growing
in his relationship with God Pastor Anthony Smith, Sr. soon realized his true calling to the ministry and was licensed as
an Evangelist at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Norfolk, VA where Bishop C.V Russell
Jr. is the Pastor.
As he was growing in the Lord at Mt. Carmel he also met and fell
in love with a beautiful woman of God, Janeifer Claud Smith, that later became his wife. After marriage in
January of 2001 they relocated to Northern Virginia. They attended the New
Samaritan Baptist Church
in Washington, DC, where
Bishop Michael V. Kelsey is the Pastor. Pastor Smith was active in the Men’s Ministry and the Social Action Leadership
Team (SALT) Ministry.
In obedience to the Lords Calling, Pastor Anthony Smith came under
the leadership, guidance and love of Bishop, Albert Evans Jr. of International Fellowship of Covenant
Churches and Ministries (IFCCM) where he was later
ordained as an Elder and consecrated as the Pastor of Forever Deliverance Ministry in Fairfax Virginia.
